How does ahsoka get two lightsabers

Ahsoka took the red kyber crystals from the Inquisitor's lightsaber and purified it for her own use. Star Wars canon introduced the idea of bonding kyber crystals with its owner, with dark side Force users turning them red and light side users able to generate green, blue, purple, yellow, and orange. But, since the kyber crystals Ahsoka was using had already been turned white, the process of purifying them led to the rare white lightsabers. As cool as the white lightsabers look and help Ahsoka stand out visually , the color choice also has some additional meaning.

All of the lightsaber colors have a meaning behind them now in canon, such as blue representing bravery. Ahsoka has seen how the Jedi Order faltered and has no interest in preserving those ideals, with her even noting in The Mandalorian that the order fell long ago. Still, she is a light side Force user who is trying to use her abilities to defeat evil across the galaxy. She started with a green blade when first introduced, which is a common Jedi blade color.

After the Jedi pick their kyber crystal to power the weapon, the blade takes its color. Green blades can mean a range of things about the Jedi it belongs to but usually denotes harmony and goodwill. After winning the Siege of Mandalore, Ahsoka was on her way back to Coruscant, maybe even to rejoin the Jedi. But before she could return, Palpatine changed everything with three simple words. The Great Jedi Purge had begun. In the ensuing chaos of her former allies trying to kill her, Ahsoka barely escaped with her life.

In the aftermath, she had no choice but to go into hiding to survive. She left her sabers by the wreckage of her crash landed ship, on top of graves of fallen clones. She abandoned her lightsabers as a way of faking her own death. It made sure that anyone who went looking for her would assume that she had died with them. And sure enough, Darth Vader would search that site years later. There he discovered the sabers he had gifted to her and believed exactly what she wanted him to.

But wait, I hear you say, how did she leave them behind for good? She was extremely deadly with them in season 4. It was most likely dismissed as unimportant. The portrayal of the lightsabers was updated in later versions of the novel to reflect the television episode. Like the Vaapad combat pose, wielding two blades or a double sword was commonly regarded as too effective for a Jedi to contain.

Mace Windu was the first Jedi to use Vaapad, and his ability to concentrate the dark side of the force to do so was exceptionally rare. The concept of bonding kyber crystals with its owner was introduced in Star Wars canon, with dark side Force users making them red and light side Force users able to create green, blue, purple, black, and orange.

However, since the kyber crystals Ahsoka was using were already white, the process of purifying them resulted in the unusual white lightsabers. Why Ahsoka has two lightsabers instead of one, as most Force users do, can be traced back to her days as a Jedi padawan. Like several others, Ahsoka began with a single sword, but she finally forged a second, shorter blade. However, most Jedi use only one blade, and their lightsaber hilts are plain, consisting of a straight cylinder with little adornment, whereas the Sith use curved grips or other more exotic stylings.
